Genetics Counselor The Contractor shall provide genetic counseling services to beneficiaries who have, or are at an increased risk for familial cancers and genetic diseases. This process includes, but not limited to: Collection of individual and family medical history information; Assessment of hereditary risk for birth defects and cystic fibrosis; Patient education and review of options through group and/or individual counseling; Coordinate genetic testing with patient, clinic and laboratories
Under general supervision, this position is responsible for advising undergraduate and graduate students regarding admissions and degree completion requirements, as well as enrolling students for the University's graduate, undergraduate and certificate programs, requiring the use of judgment and discretion on a periodic basis.
